Recently valve changed the logo for Linux compatibility from tux the penguin to the steam logo. SteamOS is Linux but not all Linux is SteamOS and so while tux was a general Linux symbol the steam logo represents SteamOS exclusively which is a gross under-exaggeration of the platforms that are actually supported.
