Declare the consultation process to the "West of England Joint Spatial Plan" null and void
0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,500!
The West of England Joint Spatial Plan, is set to increase the number of houses in small villages by the year 2036. This means that villages such as Coalpit Heath which has approximately 800 residents will see an extra 1800 homes added to it's area; the homes are to be built on precious Green Belt land.
Coalpit Heath is not alone, many other Green Belt areas have also been selected for development.
There has been a consultation process set up by the council. However, the way in which you need to add your comments is deliberately alienating to the average person. These are the people who will be most affected by the developments. People like you. To add some context, the elderly population do not necessarily have access to a computer, people do not have the money to print forms off and even if you can do those things, the language that the consultation is written in is deliberately alienating and the process is arduous. This means that the consultation is unfairly biased towards the developers and business people. This is unfair and cannot be considered due process.
This petition calls to declare the consultation process null and void. It also calls for a fairer consultation process to be implemented.
