Our Petition  At www.CHANGE.ORG/GALECRESCENT.ca and Our Website www.GALECRESCENT.ca Is Getting Attention, Inquiries And Responses From Citizens, Politicians And Media!

Yesterday, Tuesday, December 3, 2024, I was contacted by The St. Catharines Standard Newspaper reporter, Bill Sawchuck who is doing a story on our petition, and The Standard staff photographer, Bob T came down and met with Laura and I and took photos for the story. A special thank you to The St. Catharines Standard Newspaper, Bill Sawchuck and Bob T for their interest in our Petition,

So far we have only heard from 4 Regional Council Members. Thank you to Niagara Regional Chair, Jim Bradley and the 3 Regional Councillors who have contacted me and show interest and understanding in the Gale Crescent Neighborhood and the problems that our neighborhood is facing:

Jim Bradley – Regional Chair
Laura Ip – Councillor – St. Catharines
Sal Sorrento – Councillor – St. Catharines
Haley Bateman – Councillor – St. Catharines.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to each and every one of you who has signed our petition, which has reached over 20,000 with 83 actually signing this Petitionpeople to date. I am determined to continue this effort until our mission is fulfilled and the issues and criminal activities associated with homelessness are acknowledged, prompting the government to take action and enact Article 33 into law.

It is important to remember that while the homeless have rights, so do the law-abiding taxpayers who reside in these neighborhoods. The presence of homelessness can deplete social resources, diminish property values, introduce criminal elements that were previously absent, and demonstrate a lack of respect for law and order.

The time for talking is over, we the people, demand action.

To the member of the Niagara Regional Police, the St. Catharines Fire Department and Niagara EMS, our gratitude to each members of these departments for being there to serve and protect the members of our neighborhood when called out for their help.

Thank you one and all, and please send this link, www.change.org/galcecrescent to everyone you know. Remember every time a new signature is added to our petition, members of municipal, regional, provincial and federal receive a notification that a signature has been added. We need as many signatures that we can get to have the government to take action in this ever increasing problem.

Until our next update, I am Rob McConnell.
