The last several months have been very difficult for Afghans and their allies. Many of us are continuing to work frantically to try to help Afghans at risk get to safety.

Here is a link to a fundraiser for an organization that I co-founded and which is fundraising to help Afghan Allies! It is an approved 501(c)3 organization, so Facebook will match donations made exactly at 8 am Eastern Time tomorrow for Giving Tuesday!

Muhammad and family are still doing OK and still in the same situation as before -- living in hiding in a hostile neighboring country while we try to get them visas to the US. We have filed a Humanitarian Parole case for the Kamran family in September and are still waiting for a decision on that. Every visa option for Afghans is pretty backlogged now as tens of thousands of Afghans are desperately trying to escape from Afghanistan. 

Please call your Congressman/woman and Senators and urge them to pass legislation to increase efforts to process visas and get Afghans to safety. Tens of thousands of Afghans who worked directly with the US and a couple of hundred thousand who worked for the Afghan government or various Western supported NGOs are at risk now. More needs to be done to help them get to safety (and other countries should step up to offer visas and asylum to at-risk Afghans).

Millions of people are on the brink of starvation as much of the world has frozen assets to the Taliban "government" which seems to be more interested in terrorizing people who worked for the US or the previous government than any actual governing.

The non-profit KANA (Kurdish Alliance of North America) that some friends and I started last year to support Kurds and other US allies is having a fundraiser for Giving Tuesday. We are an approved 510(c)3 now! We will use the money to provide urgent humanitarian aid (food and shelter) to Afghan families forced to live in hiding while they wait for their US visas.

Facebook will match the first few million dollars donated to qualified fundraisers starting at exactly 8 am Eastern time (5 am Pacific Time) tomorrow. Here is the fundraiser.
