To: Representative and Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, US Congress

We, the residents of US Congressional District 2, State of Hawaii, represented by US Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, are infuriated and deeply troubled by her recent imprudent and secret trip to Syria and her 'chance' meeting with Syrian dictator, Bashar Al-Assad.

We believe that her irresponsible and selfish behavior has served to legitimize Assad, who is, in fact,  'a war criminal and a murderer...(who) has supported and benefited from terrorism.. has close ties to Russia ..and cannot have a role in Syria's future' (The Hill:  statement from Rep Eliot Engel, D-NY).  Assad has murdered hundreds of thousands of his own people and has created the worst refugee crisis since the end of WWII.  He is directly responsible for the deaths of innocents, symbolized by the heart-wrenching news photo of a drowned young boy on a Middle Eastern shore.

By Rep Gabbard's ill-conceived conduct, we believe that she has abused her office, weakened US foreign policy, and lent tacit support to a horrifying dictator.  Rep Tulsi Gabbard does not represent the sentiments of the people of Hawaii.  More accurately, she appears to represent only herself and her rogue political interests.

We, the undersigned, want to express our absolute disgust with Rep Gabbard's actions.  We want Rep Gabbard HELD ACCOUNTABLE.  

Consequently, we are petitioning that Rep Tulsi Gabbard be removed from membership on both the House Armed Services Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee immediately. 

And we vow to elect a new representative for our district in 2018!
