Remove the ban on Mercury Vapor ballasts and fixtures

Remove the ban on Mercury Vapor ballasts and fixtures
The Issue
In 2008 the US Government banned Mercury Vapor ballasts and Metal Halide (probe start ) fixtures that can run Mercury Vapor Bulbs. (This excludes 1000 watt fixtures and fixtures for hydroponics. (growing plants)). This petition is to get the ban removed so that they can be installed again and be available again. Theyre usually very cheap and more efficient than incandescent and simular lighting types. Some bulbs (not banned) have been known to last 40-to 50 years of uninterrupted use. I personally think that it's rediculous to ban a perfecly good light source from being made and imported into the United States. We should be able to have whatever light source we want as long as it's not extremely dangerous, and we pay for the electric bill. And also don't let the word mercury scare you, it's inside of a capsule called the "arc tube" which is inside of another casule called the "outer bulb", so if you drop it, it's both capsules would have to break, and alot of that glass is really strong so it's not gonna break as easily as you would think. They're really good for landscape lighting and streetlighting. They can also be used indoors for lighting large areas. They're also good for places that are hard to reach. They're also very sturdy, made of aluminum, emit have a nice white or green color (they come in two varieties), have very little glare ,have less components (less parts to fail) and cheaper unlike the more expensive plastic homeowner grade stuff. This is why I think the ban should be removed.
