Dear supporters,
Thanks to your support, this petition already collected more than 200 signatures.
It is a 14th day of a terrible cruel war waged by Russian aggressors against Ukrainian people. Cities are bombed, infrastructure destroyed, innocent people killed.
More than 1.7 million of innocent Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes and seek safety abroad and this number keeps growing. Think about it. Those people lost everything. Don't they deserve to be sheltered for a period of war by their family members, and friends here in the US?
Many people tell me that there are closer countries for them to seek refugee in. It is true. Many countries of the European Union accept Ukrainian refugees. Even those who do not share borders with Ukraine. But wouldn't it be a humane thing to do to allow them to stay with those who know and love them? It would not only provide them with food and roof above their heads but also would give them the emotional support they so desperately need after witnessing the horrors of war. In addition, it would free up additional European resources so they can be used to help those who don't have connections in the US.
Our 200+ signatures seem like a drop of water in a sea, but they carry a big weight! I have referenced this petition in my emails to President Biden and California senators. I hope that they when they see how many people support the idea, they may change their stance on the issue.
Please keep spreading the word and sharing the petition with your family members, friends and coworkers on social media and in real life.
Thank you one more time for your support from me personally and from all the Ukrainian people!
