Violence continues to escalate and has entered its 7th day after Israel’s illegal attempt to force Palestinians from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah.

Amnesty International reports Israel destroyed a refugee camp, which killed more civilians. Others report Israeli attacks on medical workers, hospitals, and disproportionate use of force, and continued killings of Palestinian civilians, many of them children.

Many around the world are rightfully calling the Israeli government’s atrocities a genocide. Civilians need to breathe! A ceasefire is urgently needed to allow for the facilitation of humanitarian aid.

United States elected officials must call for a ceasefire, and make clear that no actor has a right to commit war crimes in the name of self defense, including Israel.
