The amendment is crucial and raises deep concern for the pet(s)/working animals overall health and effects your constituents that own them. This outdated indefensible law must be amended. Therefore, supporter of this movement will be contacting your offices. What does it say when Doctors do not listen to science and facts * Public Health Risk * Non Compliance - more and more pet owners are refusing to put their pet's health at risk with inappropriate rabies vaccination. * Compliance improves with appropriate vaccinations. * NonResponders - without a blood Titer pets who do not respond to Rabies Vaccinations are not identified and created a public health risk! (5%) * A current Rabies Vaccine Certificate does not indicate immunity. * International travel and Hawaii require protective Rabies Titers not Vaccination Certificates. * Double Standards! Veterinarians do not Re-Vaccinate themselves, they check their own Titers. * Pet health. * Titers = Immunity. * Vaccines are dose dependent by weight. * Public awareness is growing rapidly. * The volume is not the decided factor but rather was a protective Titer established. * Titers are affordable. * Science supports the Amended Rabies Law. * The Current Rabies Law is not supported by science. Jim Davis introduced S74 and Rep. Billy Richardson introduced H546, which would change how animals exposed to rabies are handled. If possible we would like another legislator to introduce the following amendment to change the existing vaccination law by incorporating our amendment to one of these bills S74 or H546 and or assign to committee to be heard and voted on. We have Veterinarian experts and several supporters that will travel to meet with legislators regarding this amendment. o AN ACT CONCERNING THE VACCINATION OF ANIMALS Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to allow veterinarians to: 1.
