Thank you for your tremendous outpouring of support. Your signing and sharing this petition brought us to 20K signatures in under 3 days.

Since then Santa Clara County has clarified its position: Cannabis Businesses are "Essential Businesses" as "Healthcare Operations" under the Shelter in Place Order and therefore to that extent can remain open as determined by local regulators.

The City of San Jose is employing the current legal standard of Proposition 64 which allows adults to determine their own medical health and wellness need for cannabis. On that basis the dispensaries remain open to all adults for medical purposes without the need for the old Prop 215/SB 420 written doctor's recommendations.

Despite this successful outcome (thanks to you) we will keep this petition open for now because governmental COVID-19 responses continue to evolve rapidly and so that we can continue to update you as needed.

For now, we can say that no local jurisdiction that we know of has rolled back Prop 64 as part of its COVID-19 response. Please let us know if you know of any that have, and we will help organize the response.

Thank you again for all  your good work. And Happy 4/20's Eve if that is a date that you celebrate. (And Happy Bicycle Day if that is as well.)
