Greetings from the Kerala Association of Professional Social Workers (KAPS).
Many of you may remember the statewide campaign undertaken by KAPS in 2025 regarding the proposed Special Rules of the Social Justice Department. Through your extraordinary support, that campaign successfully mobilized 11,663 signatures, which were subsequently submitted to the concerned authorities and people's representatives.
That achievement demonstrated the collective strength, commitment and social responsibility of the Professional Social Work fraternity in Kerala.
Today, we once again seek your support for a cause that affects every family, every community and ultimately every one of us...!!
Kerala's Senior Citizens Need Our Voice..!!

Kerala is one of the fastest ageing states in India. Thousands of older persons face challenges related to loneliness, elder abuse, neglect, dementia, mental health concerns, financial insecurity, long-term care needs and limited access to coordinated support services.
The Government of Kerala has recently taken an important step by creating a dedicated administrative framework for elderly welfare. We believe this is the right time to strengthen the system further and develop a comprehensive, community-based and rights-oriented Elder Care and Protection Framework for Kerala.
To support this vision, KAPS has launched a public petition seeking stronger elder care, protection services, mental health support, emergency response systems, community-based care models and professional multidisciplinary service delivery for senior citizens.
Why This Matters..!!
- Today's elderly population built the Kerala, we enjoy today.
- Many of them now require protection, support, care and dignity.
A society is judged not only by how it treats its children, but also by how it cares for its senior citizens.
Our Immediate Goal
📢 We are mobilizing public support before submitting this petition to the Hon'ble Chief Minister and the Government of Kerala.
We request every Social Worker, Social Work Student, Faculty Member, Researcher, Rehabilitation Professional, Alumni Member and concerned citizen to:
