WORLD PATIENT SAFETY DAY - Post-mammogram results letter

A 'normal' mammogram does not always mean no cancer. 

Dense breasts can mask cancer on mammograms, yet women are not told this. 

Following a mammogram, women with dense breasts are not offered additional scans

Women should remain breast aware and self-check regularly. 

Any changes - women should seeks checks with GP / breast screening centre. 

On World Patient Safety Day, we call for clear NHS information and standardised letters so women aren't falsely reassured by incomplete patient information.
