Victory Update: Our Voices Are Being Heard — Thank You!

We are absolutely thrilled to share some incredible news:

Thanks to your amazing support, determination, and belief in this project, Rother District Council has now confirmed that the decision about the Egerton Park Outdoor Bowls Pavilion will be discussed in public — not behind closed doors.

This change happened because of YOU — every signature, every comment, every conversation.
You showed that this isn’t just about a building — it’s about community spaces, fairness, and making sure the voices of local families are listened to.

This is a huge step forward.
It proves that when communities come together and speak up, decision-makers have to listen.

But while we celebrate this important win, we know there’s still a lot of work to do.

The Cabinet still needs to decide who will be entrusted with the Pavilion — and we believe it should be a project that keeps it open, accessible, and inclusive for everyone.
We are continuing to call on Rother District Council to award the lease to Come As You Are CIC, so we can create The Bexhill Nest: a safe, sensory-considerate space that belongs to the whole community.

We’re not just protecting a building — we’re building a future where every child, every family, and every resident feels like they belong.

Thank you for getting us this far.
Please keep sharing, talking, and standing with us — because together, we are changing what’s possible.

We’ll keep you updated every step of the way.

So much gratitude from the bottom of our hearts,

Lucy, Christine and Mandi
