Dear supporters,

Happy New Year to all 140,000 + of you! Thank you all for signing, and for your continued support for this campaign.

Next week, MPs will be voting on an amendment in parliament, attempting to save protections for child refugees. They are aiming to prevent Boris Johnson's Brexit legislation from stripping child refugees of their right to be reunified with family here in the UK. We want to make sure they have all the support they can get.

Can you help by writing to your MP, to ask them to vote for the amendment, and support family reunification for refugees? We've made it easy for you by writing a sample letter that you can use: it will take two minutes, and it could make all the difference!

 1. Copy below letter

 2. Find your local MP's email address on https://members.parliament.uk/members/Commons

 3. Paste the letter into an email to your MP and send!

 4. Comment to let us know who you have contacted

And, as always, please continue to share the petition as widely as you can - let's top 150,000!

Many thanks to you all - peace and love,

Melissa x

-- Sample letter --

Dear [MP's name],

I am writing to ask you to support vital protections for child refugees here in the UK. As your local constituent, I am asking you to support the Liberal Democrats' amendment to Boris Johnson's Brexit legislation, which is seeking to maintain the family reunification scheme for child refugees. It will be tabled between 13th and 17th January.

Boris's withdrawal bill threatens to abandon thousands of vulnerable child refugees who are waiting to be reunited with their loved ones here in the UK. I believe that the UK is better than this, and should allow families to be together, rather than tearing them apart.

I am among nearly 150,000 people who have signed a petition asking the Home Office to protect the family reunification scheme. For more information, see this article: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-refugee-children-migrants-boris-johnson-withdrawal-bill-a9268046.html and the petition: http://chng.it/kk84GzmP

Please support child refugees when you go to vote next week.

Yours sincerely,
