Dear supporters,

We’ve come a long way together—but the fight is far from over.

In 2023, my son Ben nearly lost his life due to a prescription error that left him without his vital cannabis-based medicine. His oxygen dropped to 72%. His heart rate soared to 218bpm. He survived only because another family shared their child’s identical medication.

This is not an isolated incident. It’s a symptom of a broken system.

Despite the 2018 law change, families are still forced to pay privately—up to £2,500 a month—for a medicine that was promised through the NHS. We were told there would be access. Instead, we’ve been met with silence, refusals, and bureaucratic obstruction.

That’s why we’ve launched an open letter demanding an urgent government inquiry. We’re calling for:

A reimbursement scheme and fund for families already paying privately
A functioning NHS access pathway
Electronic prescribing to prevent the dangerous delays Ben suffered
Legal recognition of cannabis medicines under international Non-Proprietary Names
Statutory education for clinicians, law enforcement, and policymakers

This is not just about policy. It’s about survival. It’s about justice. And it’s about ending the structural impunity that has allowed this crisis to continue.

Together, we can end the delays. End the stigma. End our pain.
