May 26, 2022 EDT, A new Morning Consult poll finds 88% of Americans strongly or somewhat support requiring background checks on all gun sales while just 8% strongly or somewhat oppose them. And, 75% strongly support creating a national database with info about each gun sale, while 18% opposes.

About 84% strongly support preventing sales of all firearms to people reported as dangerous to law enforcement by a mental health provider, while 9% oppose that.
