Supporters,

I hope this finds you keeping safe and warm today. Honestly, it's a challenge to keep on task right now with so much happening in our country. However, I feel a responsibility to inform you about progress on an issue that matters a lot to us. This is the second update in two days, so here goes:

Ready for some good news? I certainly was.

First, The Hill published my Op-Ed Shrimp With a Side of Cancer which the Washington Post picked up via Ripple (which promotes readers with diverse perspectives from around the U.S). While the topic itself isn't good news, the fact Cesium-137's dangers are being more widely known to the public certainly is good. That's the only way effective change really happens, through awareness. Consumers have a right to know.

Next, Dr. Brenda Baletti with the Children's Health Defense newsletter, The Defender wrote 'You Shouldn’t Have to Use a Geiger Counter’: Radioactive Shrimp Recall Signals Broader U.S. Food Safety Threat  which was then reprinted by the highly esteemed Public Health Policy Journal

Collectively, and in some cases singularly, the above publications obviously have a huge readership base. Real progress is being made to educate the media, public and lawmakers about radioactive Cesium-137 in food and it's impact on health.

But it can't stop there, FFAN needs your help. We hope you'll read and share the links with your networks, family and friends and take a few minutes to leave a comment of any length at The Hill, The Defender, or PHPJ Thank you!

If you haven't signed the MoveOn petition Keep Harmful Radioactive Waste Out of Our Children's Food please do, and if you've already signed, please share the link.

Words are power, after all.

Take care, and thanks for your support!
Kim
