As you know, we've been waiting 11 years for action on the FDA Citizen Petition to drastically lower the current allowable levels of man-made radiation in food. I'm writing you to share that, amidst a very busy news cycle (and yet another listeria outbreak) the Fukushima Fallout Awareness Network FFAN Coalition held a Congressional Briefing webinar entitled Radioactive Food and Water and What Congress Can Do About It.  

The following week a congresswoman and two senators introduced legislation to create a separate agency that deals only with food safety. 

The briefing was well-attended and I wrote about it and the legislation in an Op-Ed that was published yesterday in Food Safety News, please take a few minutes to leave a few thoughts in the comment section and share it (linking back to FSN) with your network.
