Hello Supporters,

Thank you for signing the Fukushima Radioactive Fallout Food Safety Petition. Due to a recent press release this petition is gaining more signatures so it's time to update.

Japan is planning very soon to begin dumping 1.3 MILLION TONS of radioactive wastewater into the Pacific Ocean. The highly toxic water has been accumulating on site at Fukushima Daiichi since nearly three weeks before this petition was written in 2011. Make no mistake, it will not be fully filtered, and more radioactive wastewater is accumulating as you read this (and will continue far into the future). There is more room at adjacent sites for storage until a better plan can be implemented but Japan is taking the easy, cheaper way out. The Pacific is not Japan's ocean!

If you've had a chance to watch the recent 8-part Netflix documentary "The Days" you have a better understanding of what actually happened at Fukushima on 311, the days that immediately followed and the uncertain future at the devastated reactors.  This stunningly factual series is based on the Yoshida Testimony (the heroic manager who was on duty as the catastrophe unfolded) and many other reliable first-hand accounts. Please watch if at all possible.

Back to the petition and your support, please take a few minutes to read the attached press release before sharing with your networks.  It quotes Dr. Timothy Mousseau, a biologist who recently published a paper on the dangers of tritium ingestion, something that the media has not addressed. The short abstract is linked to the press release. Be sure to click on the hyperlink below and also within the document. It will take only a few minutes to read.

The takeaway is that Tritium behaves like water in the environment and cannot be filtered. TEPCO states that tritium will be diluted, however that's no solution to the problem because there is no safe dose of radiation once ingested. Tritium bioconcentrates in seafood (phytoplankton to algae, little fish to bigger fish) and more. Tuna is a prime example. Tritium bioaccumulates in other foods as well.

Please source your food mindfully, share the petition and press release, and message me at ffan@sonic.net if you would like more information on the FDA Citizen Petition mentioned herein:
