Here’s an update on our campaign, and ways that you can continue to help us fight the Ly family expropriation.

Nous avons dépassé les 1400 signatures ! Continuons à faire passer le message. Notre prochain objectif est de 1500 signatures, et chaque objectif atteint fait une énorme différence dans notre campagne pour stopper l'expropriation de la famille Ly.
Grâce à cette campagne, la famille Ly et notre groupe de citoyens ont été contactés par de nombreux médias pour discuter des problèmes liés au projet de la STM. Jusqu'à présent, des reportages et des articles ont été publiés par : Radio-Canada, Dutrizac, Le Journal de Montréal, CBC, The Montreal Gazette, CTV, La Presse, et Global News. Nous espérons en atteindre beaucoup d'autres dans les jours à venir !
Nous faisons maintenant appel à votre aide pour nous rejoindre dans une campagne d'envoi de courriels et de lettres. Nous vous invitons à faire part de votre opposition au projet aux élus suivants. J'ai récemment été choqué et attristé d'apprendre que la STM a l'intention d'exproprier la maison de la famille Ly, située au 530-532 rue de Bellechasse, afin de construire une nouvelle poste de ventilation mécanique pour le métro (PVM Bellechasse). La STM prévoit expulser la famille en janvier, pendant les jours les plus rigoureux de l'hiver montréalais. Cette situation est inacceptable et inhumaine pour cette famille enracinée dans le quartier Rosemont depuis plus de 40 ans.
Je vous demande de faire le nécessaire pour stopper ce projet de la STM et l'expropriation de la maison de la famille Ly. La réaction du public à cette situation honteuse et dégoûtante démontre clairement que ce projet n'a pas l'appui citoyen requis. La STM doit changer le site du projet, pour un des sites disponibles et vacants appartenant déjà à la STM et qui sont situés plus loin des résidences des citoyens. Il est évident que le projet doit être modifié pour tenir compte du quartier familial densément peuplé de Petite-Patrie.
Nous vous remercions de votre appui. Nous continuerons à nous battre pour sauver la maison familiale Ly jusqu'à ce que la STM abandonne ce site.

We have passed 1400 signatures! Let’s keep getting the word out there. Our next goal is 1500 signatures, and every goal met makes a huge difference in our campaign to stop the Ly family expropriation.
Thanks to this campaign the Ly family and our citizen’s group have been approached by many media outlets to discuss the problems with this STM project. So far news segments and articles have been published by: CBC, Radio-Canada, The Montreal Gazette, Dutrizac, CTV, La Presse, Le Journal de Montréal, and Global News. We hope to reach many more in the coming days!
We are now calling for help from you to join us in an email and letter writing campaign. We invite you to voice your opposition to the project to the following elected officials. I was recently shocked and saddened to learn that the STM has plans to expropriate the Ly family home at 530-532 rue de Bellechasse in order to build a new ventilation station for the metro (poste de ventilation méchanique Bellechasse). The STM plans to evict the family in January, during the harshest days of Montréal winter. This situation is unacceptable and inhumane for this family that has been rooted in the Rosemont neighborhood for over 40 years.
I ask you to do what is necessary to stop this STM project and the expropriation of the Ly family home. Public reaction to this disgraceful and disgusting situation clearly shows that this project does not have the required citizen support. The STM must change the site of the project to one of the available and vacant sites already belonging to the STM that are located farther from the residences of citizens. It is obvious that the project must be modified to take into account the densely populated family neighborhood of Petite-Patrie.
Thank you for your support. We will continue to fight to save the Ly family home until the STM abandons this location.
