Great work, community! We’re over 500 signatures now! The DA and the judges have to start listening to our unified voice.

- Be the voice they can’t ignore!
Why do the judges insist on continually inflicting harm on our community? Why do they continue to support and coddle people who poison our community with fentanyl?
From Keepin’ it Real:
February 14th…
On the afternoon of December 29th, 2023, on Lee Road (Watsonville), SO Deputies stopped a (then) 26 year old female and found her to have been transporting a controlled substance for the purpose of sales and arrested her. Bail amount was $10,000.00.
On January 3rd the DA filed a criminal complaint that included 3 counts of possessing a controlled substance for the purpose of sales, and one count of being under the influence of drugs.
She filed for a bond release. 9 days later, after recording her plea of “Not Guilty” at arraignment, the Honorable Syda Cogliati approved the bond amount, and she was released.
The case was then transferred to Denine Guy’s courtroom where it began to sputter in true Guy fashion.
On September 16th, Guy found the evidence enough to hold Rodriguez to answer on 2 counts of drug trafficking, and scheduled a pretrial conference for November 7th. Rodriguez began failing to appear. Her bond wasn’t revoked until 3 months later.
At 2:19 this morning on Green Valley Road and Main St, the woman was contacted by Watsonville PD on a traffic stop.
They found the warrant, and arrested her. She was searched, and found to once again be peddling a controlled substance, and had transported it across County lines for the purpose of sales. Additionally, she had drugs in both her pockets, and a fancy glass crack pipe.
She is in custody at the Main Jail. Bail amount is $20,000.00 (WPD Case# 25W-00445/ Booking# B-615066)
