Dear supporters,
I’m pleased to share that our petition has now been formally acknowledged by West Sussex County Council. I received a direct response from Charles Gauntlett, Senior Adviser – Council & Member Support (Democratic Services), who confirmed that he has liaised with all the agencies and stakeholders included in the original submission. I also want to give credit to Tony Hogben, Horsham District Councillor for Rusper & Colgate Ward, for his engagement and support throughout this process.
Following WSCC’s response, the Council requested that the petition be officially closed so they can begin verifying the signatories and progressing the matter internally. The petition is now closed, and the full signatory list has been submitted.
This marks an important milestone. Our community’s concerns have been recognised, taken seriously, and moved into the Council’s formal process for action.
With 1,177 signatures in just one week, we demonstrated the strength and unity of everyone affected by the A264 flooding and access issues. Your support, shares, and determination made this possible.
Thank you to every single person who signed and helped amplify this message. I will continue to keep you updated as WSCC completes verification and outlines the next steps.
With gratitude,
Viviane Allen
