Our Washington D.C. visit exceeded expectations. Officials recognized our challenges and showed real openness to the solutions we proposed.
Their message to us was clear: they need to see organized support from across the formalwear industry. Producers and retailers must show we are united behind this cause.
Your contribution is needed now more than ever. Please apply and contribute to NAFAA here.
Your membership is essential to this industry effort to secure tariff relief that will make formalwear including bridal, bridesmaid, prom, Quinceanera, and special occasion dresses more affordable for consumers and more sustainable for retailers and designers.
Here’s What Just Happened in D.C.:
We met directly with the Department of Commerce, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, key Members of Congress, and several Senators. We made our case that tariff relief isn’t just about protecting business margins, it’s about ensuring formalwear remains accessible and affordable to the people who depend on it for life’s most meaningful moments.
Lower dress prices don’t just help brides and prom-goers, they expand the overall budget for events. That means more room for venues, caterers, florists, planners, and all the other vendors that power the special events economy. This is relief that ripples across industries. It is, and was, a compelling message that resonated with them all.
And your voice will be heard:
The NAFAA is soon to launch a tool to help you contact your elected officials directly giving every member the power to advocate for change.
Now is the time to act. Sign in and make your contribution. Let’s finish what we started.
