Over 250 signatures to our online petition. Thank you!! We are now organising a paper petition, supported by the local Member of Parliament, David Southwick MP, to be presented to the Victorian Parliament. If everyone who signed the online petition gets 10 signatures on the paper petition that would be a huge boost. Anyone can sign as long as they have a Victorian address – so students, parents, staff, family, friends, workmates and neighbours can sign. Please print off as many copies of the paper petition as you need. Copy this link into your browser to access and print the petition - https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B08gR7SZv7zFUGowNGM5djZGZHB3NDhJQi1nUXYwaFB4WFJz/view Sign the petition and return to the Glen Eira College office at 76 Booran Rd Caulfield East, 3145 or to David Southwick’s office at 1/193 Balaclava Road, Caulfield North 3161 by Tuesday 13 December 2016. Handwritten signatures only. The latest news is that Glen Eira Council has agreed to advocate with the Minister for Roads and Road Safety and the Minister for Education to ensure a safer pedestrian crossing for our children. Glen Eira College appreciates the support of the local Council and the wider community on this urgent safety issue. The comments on the online petition show some of the near misses our children are experiencing from dangerous and distracted drivers. We call on the State Government to make the crossing safer and save lives now!! Thanks for the great support and sign the paper petition now!
