Hi everyone,

We hope you’re having a great holiday season. We have an update from Ringette Ontario to share with you all. 

For the upcoming 2025-26 season:

• Associations that continue to be supported by a regional organization, such as WORA, will see no changes to their existing team formation process. 
• Ringette Ontario will directly support associations without regional oversight in establishing team formation guidelines and resources. 

For future seasons, Ringette Ontario will be moving forward with changes related to competitions and team formation across the province, with the help of two NEW standing committees: the Team Formation Oversight Committee and the Competitions Oversight Committee.

We don’t yet know what the changes will look like, but we’re hopeful that these new standing committees will be reaching out and engaging with ringette associations, coaches,  players, families, and officials to help inform their decision making as they move forward. And if they don’t, we’ll all be here to speak up!!

Also, WE DID IT!! We’re hesitant to “declare victory” as the Change.org website suggests since we’d like to see how it all plays out over the next couple of years. But what we do know is that although changes will be made at some point, Ringette Ontario listened, paused and adjusted their proposed plans to support a phased-in approach, ensure a more informed decision making process, and implementation of better change management! This goes to show how powerful it can be to speak up as a group. This is HUGE!
