Human Rights Foundation and other human rights organizations are expressing grave concerns over the continued arbitrary detention of artist and activist Danilo Maldonado Machado. On the 1 month anniversary of this most recent detention where the peaceful artist and activist has been held in a roach infested, maximum security prison; has been beaten, stripped nude and held in solitary confinement. The Office of the Special Rapporteur Expresses Concern over the detention in Cuba of artist Danilo Maldonado, known as "El Sexto". We attach the write up the OAS did on the serious matter of the continued detention of El Sexto and the spiraling human rights in his native Cuba as pertaining to freedom of speech and expression.
