Waitrose, like all supermarkets has an environmental policy in place (which you can read by clicking the following link): http://www.waitrose.com/home/inspiration/about_waitrose/the_waitrose_way/packaging.html They promise to make all their packaging widely recyclable by 2025 and phase out black plastic by next year. This is all brilliant. However, that is still 7 years of non-recyclable plastic that is being used and has the potential to end up in our oceans. Please write to Waitrose and explain that while we support their environmental policy on waste reduction, given the urgency of the current situation of plastic waste destroying our oceans, we need more drastic action sooner.
