Hi all,
Thank you once again for all the support you have shown our campaign. It is great to see so many people from all over come together for a good cause. I wanted to make sure I provided an update heading into the weekend. I have not receive any direct contact from the shelter to start dialog. I have sent them correspondence with my contact information and expressed my eagerness to speak. I have also requested information on the Board Composition as I can not say for certain that the publicly available information is up to date. I hope I can get this information so we can share this petition with them as well. I am still hopeful and once again thank you for the support.
The picture included are name tags my wife and I had made for three of the long term residents of the shelter. This is little thing we would do for the these types of dogs just so they had something special that was just theirs and hopefully they would know that people cared about them as individuals. It was probably mattered more to us and they would have preferred an extra puperoni, but we wanted people who came to see them to know they were cared about.
When I heard Sawyer was going to be put down and I made my last visit, I took his tag back as I wanted him to be remembered and not just have it lost or discarded. Thanks to community support and the shelter's willingness to reconsider their decision at the 11th hour, I hope to mend bridges so that I can give Sawyer back his tag (and all the puperonis he wants).
Reminder for anyone local to this shelter that I have pledged to cover the adoption fees of long term residents Dash, Sawyer, and Bentley if the shelter approves the adoption. I will make payment to the shelter directly.
Thank you all and have a great weekend.
