Good news for one of the entangled Key Deer!

GREAT NEWS! GREAT NEWS! GREAT NEWS!
The doe with yellow chain was captured this morning using the borrowed drive net! An available local veterinarian, FWC, and Refuge staff REMOVED the painful chain. MANY, MANY THANKS to the wildlife agencies, the veterinarian, the researcher that let them use his 100 foot-long net, and the resident that allowed use of his fenced yard. WOW, WOW, WOW! That doe is feeling MUCH better. She and her fawn now have a good chance to live a full life:
