Remove Meat-, Milk-, and Harm-Adjacent Phrases from Public Language:

I call on institutions, General public, workplaces, and public Software's, e.t.c.. to eliminate phrases that contain or resemble exploitative or harm-adjacent terms — including “nice to meet you,” “meaty topic,” “meet-and-greet,” “welcome,” “ask,” “topic,” “focus,” “exchange,” “glad,” “theme,” “shared,” “connected,” “linked,” “open,” “joining,” “joint,” “thanks,” “contact,” “gentle,” “in touch,” “aligned,” “point,” “hard,” “had hard,” “together,” “area of care,” “present,” and “thankful” — from all public-facing language.

These phrases embed references to systems of harm or carry phonetic echoes that can feel alienating, offensive, or unsafe. “Meat” evokes violence and ecological destruction. “Milk” — especially in the phonetic echoes of “welcome” (“milk-em”) and “linked” (“milked”) — suggests extraction and commodification. “Ask” resembles “ass,” “topic” echoes “dick,” “focus” sounds like “fuck-us,” “exchange” evokes “eggs,” “glad” echoes “laid,” “shared” resembles “hard,” “connected” echoes “con-egg-did,” “open” sounds like “humping,” “joining” echoes “virgin,” “joint” evokes “cigarette,” “thanks” sounds like “suck-us,” “contact” echoes “con-sucked,” “gentle” is often used as a euphemism for private parts, “in touch” resembles “touching up,” “aligned” echoes “did it but lied,” “point” sounds like “porn,” “hard” and “had hard” carry direct sexual connotations, “together” echoes “egg-er,” “area of care” can resemble invasive or euphemistic targeting of body parts, “present” resembles “she’s hot” and “pedo,” and “thankful” resembles “fuck all.” Each of these can be interpreted as vulgar, exploitative, or exclusionary across cultures and contexts.

For ethical vegans and coalition-safe communities, such language disrupts trust, safety, and accessibility. We advocate for radically inclusive alternatives such as:

- “It’s good we’re here now” instead of “Nice to meet you”
- “Chat with You instead of “Meet-and-greet,” “session,” “exchange,” or “joint”
- “Appreciate your presence” instead of “Welcome,” “Thanks,” “Joining,” “Together,” “Present,”
- “Center of attention”  instead of “Topic,” “Focus,” “Theme,” “Point,” “Hard,” “Shared,” or “Area of care”.

This petition is not just about policing speech — it’s about evolving it. Words shape worlds. Let’s choose ones that reflect justice, empathy, and ecological awareness.
