Liz Kimmins has not only failed people with disabilities in Northern Ireland, but she has also failed public transport users across the country.
Translink has now launched a public consultation proposing service reductions and fare changes. That is the result of political choices made under Liz Kimmins' watch. She could have ensured that Translink was properly funded and developed into a powerhouse for public transport in Northern Ireland. Instead, it has been underfunded by her department.
She should resign immediately.
If she does resign, there should be no honeymoon period for the next Infrastructure Minister. The same pressure will apply. Make free public transport for disabled people a priority, and make public transport affordable for everyone who relies on it.
