Dear supporters,

Thank you to everyone who sent emails, shared, retweeted, and signed the petitions in support of Bill 216, to include “physical size and weight” in Manitoba’s Human Rights Code. The amount of support has been truly overwhelming!

Despite our efforts, the Bill has not moved past Committee Stage. While this is extremely disappointing, the awareness for the need of the Bill has led to important conversations regarding equal rights based on height, weight and appearance. This is invaluable.

Manitobans Against Weight Stigma will continue to work with our government and all parties to get this important legislation passed. We will not give up!
