I recently found out that petitions run on change.org will not be accepted by the federal government. And that you need the Australian Government’s Standing Committee on Petitions to approve them, before they are allowed to run on the government’s aph website. (Which is the only way they will accept/look at).

So, today I organised to meet with my federal member, to find out what I can do to have parliament overhaul our digital privacy laws.

Although she kept her cards quite close to her chest,  my local MP understands that digital privacy is a serious issue. And expressed support for a national education campaign to teach the community about how they can opt-out of AI surveillance.

I also wanted to find out when the Petitions Standing Committee will consider my petition for approval to run on the Au’s Govt website.

She told me they are meeting on Tuesday, so I’ll share a link if it gets approved. 🤞

I hope that I have made some small headway. I will hopefully share good news with you next week.

Until then, here are some links to tutorials that you can use to turn AI surveillance off:

Thanks again for your support! 😊
