Parent Category Residence visa - New Appeal started in NZ Parliament for removing the ballot system
Many people have asked me
- why I didn't apply for Amrik Singh's residence visa under Parent Category residence visa and
- why are we in this situation in the first place
The answer is that Amrik Singh's EOI for residence application under parent category is still waiting in a Ballot for last one year. Govt. introduced a ballot system and a limit of 500 selections per year. As of May 2024, there were a total of 9,616 EOIs waiting in the ballot. It could takes years and decades for someone to be selected from the pool.

- That they really want to support Amrik Singh's petition but they also want a way to be united with their own parents
- That if there is a way to create a petition for all parents.
