I hate to be the bearer of bad news! It’s important you all know that neither Joel Manby of SeaWorld, or Wayne Pacelle of the Humane Society have acknowledged this petition in any way, shape or form. You’ve all taken the time to comment, call and email SeaWorld. The least they could do is thank you all for your concerns. Their lack is a slap in the face, unprofessional and uncaring. Neither of them will return my phone calls, nor reply to my emails. The article posted in the Tampa Bay Times looked promising on the surface. No mention of IMATA ANYWHERE IN THE ARTICLE! 2) The title, “Lets finally put an end to dolphin hunting.” It sounds great right? But look at the 10th paragraph, “That is why the Humane Society of the United States, one of the world's leading animal advocacy organizations, and SeaWorld, one of the world's largest zoological organizations, are working together against ocean pollution, commercial whaling, seal hunts and shark finning.” There’s NO MENTION that they’re working together on the Taiji Dolphin captures and slaughters! 3) “Tokyo is preparing to host the Summer Olympics in 2020 and seeking to avoid needless controversy. From the U.S. government to advocacy organizations and concerned citizens, Americans should make the most of this moment and mobilize what our founders called "the decent opinion of mankind" against this inhumanity.” They entirely left out what the Humane Society and SeaWorld’s role will be! 4) “In addition to our shared advocacy, we are also redoubling our efforts on the ground.” ON THE GROUND? SeaWorld and HSUS have never been on the ground in Taiji that I’m aware of. Do they plan to travel to the bloody cove to personally witness this? It's important to note that SeaWorld has NEVER advocated for the dolphins that are so cruelly captured in Taiji to be shipped off to Marine Parks! Why? It’s simple. It would by hypocritical OF THEM because SEAWORLD started the highly profitable business of exploiting cetaceans to begin with! I’m sorry, but there’s no substance to that article. I suspect that was an attempt to try and placate us all, dupe everyone into believing they’re actually doing something to stop dolphin massacres when they're not. I don’t want to lose you all as time moves forward. It’s important we keep showing our strength in numbers, keep putting pressure on Joel Manby AND Wayne Pacelle to do the right thing! DENOUNCE OR DISASSOCIATE FROM IMATA! WHEN THE DEMAND FOR DOLPHINS BY MARINE PARKS STOPS, SO WILL THE SLAUGHTERS! It’s that simple. PLEASE keep sharing this petition, call SeaWorld, CALL THE HUMANE SOCIETY of the United States! Make your voices heard! Sadly, we’re far from being able to claim victory with this petition.
