My husband & I and 3 other petitioners attended the school board meeting yesterday. I would highly encourage you to listen to the audio recording, which you can find on the school's website.

Construction Engineers presented the bid for the Prairie View project and asked for the board's approval for the guaranteed maximum price of $12,823,509.
Approval was granted by the board.
Mr. Clooten reported that the bid came in $385,000 under budget and reviewed 4 proposed changes that could be made with the extra funds. The four suggestions are seen in the superintendent's report and include things like roofing, playground equipment and carpeting in the classrooms.
Mr. Clooten reported that one school member asked him to present the suggestion of one sink in each bathroom stall to the architect for a review. He is waiting for a new blueprint showing what that would look like and what the time/cost would be. That information will be shared first with the building planning subcommittee then move to the school board for discussion.
I'm assuming the process will take some time.
The next school board meeting is on Jan 20th at 5 pm .
My husband and I spoke with board member Jason Hodous after the meeting. We had a great conversation about what the process of the board is for projects like this. His input & perspective is really helpful and much appreciated. Thanks to Mr. Hodous for taking the time to initiate that conversation with us!
I encourage you take action...to reach out to each of the school board members to discuss your position on the bathrooms and to urge them to vote accordingly.
