I want to thank you all for your amazing support of the petition so far, acknowledging your views on this and the additional comments that have also been received with some very real personal experiences.

In terms of next steps, we will be submitting the petition to Council and Councillors in the near future and we do anticipate that this being tabled with Council and passed to the appropriate Council Officers for action will unlock the work that needs to be done with development of design options to provide a safe, well-designed and future proofed solution for this very urgent infrastructure problem. 

However, we still need your help to continue collecting signatures. We want to demonstrate that the demand for this infrastructure upgrade is not limited to the club, competing clubs and participants, but also the entire local community who use the Strathnaver Reserve access road and adjacent Mascoma Street footpaths regularly as they make their journeys around the creek trail, to the local shops, other walkable points of interest and back to their homes. The benefits of the upgrade will extend beyond our humble club and permeate through the entire community with better amenity and safety. 

So please continue to share the petition with your family, friends, and others in the local community. I will keep you updated on any further developments.
