According to an article on page three of the latest Goole Times, Goole Town Council’s planning committee has rejected an application (which must be by East Riding Council as owner) for work on the market hall under the Town Deal plan as invalid.

The reason? Goole Town Council say that East Riding Council has not served proper notice on them rendering the application invalid. In the application, East Riding Council have said they are the sole owner of the land, but GTC say that since they have a lease on the market hall with 85 years remaining, they own part of the land.

East Riding Council and Goole Town Council are partners in the Town Deal, and East Riding Council hand picked the Town Deal Board. That being the case, how can it be that an issue such as this has not been identified and resolved before the application went to GTC?

We really do urgently need an enquiry into how the Town Deal is being conducted.

Thank you to everyone who has signed so far. Keep sharing, keep talking, keep signing!
