Thanks to your voice — and the voices of more than 350 petition signers across Greenville County — we were able to help restore $1 million in funding for affordable workforce housing at last night’s County Council meeting.

While it’s not the full $3 million we were pushing for, it brings the funding to $2 million and that is a meaningful win that staves off deeper cuts to a critical program at a time when we simply cannot afford to move backwards. Your advocacy helped preserve momentum — and sent a clear message to County Council that residents are paying attention and ready to fight for a Greenville County where everyone can afford to live with dignity.

That’s not all: Because of local advocacy efforts, an amendment was also defeated that would have slashed $3 million from our public transit system — another major win for working families, students, and anyone who depends on reliable transportation.

These victories happened because people like you took action.

Whether you signed the petition, shared it with others, showed up to the council meeting, or sent an email — it all added up. And it made a difference.

LOCAL ADVOCACY MATTERS! 

We have to keep fighting — both to resist the darkest impulses of some of our leaders and to set forth a proactive vision for what we want Greenville County to be: a place where everyone has the opportunity to live a dignified life.

We have so much work to do, friends. But this kept us moving in the right direction — and served as a reminder of what’s possible when we raise our voices together.
