Richard Troutt, a beloved friend to many, was barbarically murdered in an act of premeditated cold-blooded violence. Rather than being here with his mother and loved ones who cherished him, he was mercilessly stalked at his place of work and subsequently murdered in a particularly atrocious, cruel, and heinous act of first-degree bloodshed orchestrated by Skyler Edward Whitefield-Brewner, a career violent criminal. This was not a simple case of self-defense. Richard did not pose a threat to anyone. He was an unarmed man who fell victim to a calculated and brutal attack. Whitefield-Brewner, who holds a lengthy record of violent criminal offenses, clearly demonstrates no regard for human life or the law. His presence in our community poses a severe danger to us all. We are urging District Attorney General Glenn R. Funk of Davidson County, Nashville, Tennessee to act. Hold Skyler Edward Whitefield-Brewner accountable for his reprehensible actions. He needs to be formally charged with the murder of Richard Troutt. Its time justice was served.
