The fact we have collected 260 signatures in just 12 hours is testament to how much this space means to us all. 

In light of this reply from the general manager,  I think it may be sensible to close the petition once the boulders are removed and people will hopefully not rebuild a dam to cause future erosion to the bank. 

I think our collective response has demonstrated that an error was made in placing those boulders yesterday.
