We did it—then they didn’t.
Thanks to your support, the Teen Trend Curfew Ordinance passed City Council, a major step forward for public safety in Chicago. This commonsense measure—focused on keeping our streets safe, holding parents accountable, and curbing dangerous late-night gatherings—earned the majority vote.

But then, the Mayor vetoed it.
Despite public support, clear evidence of need, and real progress through bipartisan leadership, the ordinance was blocked at the top. That veto sent the wrong message—to law-abiding families, to neighborhood businesses, and to the youth who deserve structure and safety, not chaos and risk.

This isn’t over.
An override vote is possible. And with your continued support, we can make sure this ordinance becomes law. Chicago’s families are watching. Our city can’t afford to backslide on public safety—or let political posturing silence progress.

Next Steps:
I’m drafting the next petition to urge City Council to override the veto and stand with the people who demanded change.
