Good morning and Happy Sunday!

We have some great news and some really bad news.
First, we are so happy to see our petition advance beyond the 400 signature mark! When we hit 500, the decision makers will get another automatic email.
Tragically , we learned yesterday of a very bad, back door move. The Frank T. Williams Farm was sold in it's entirety to Praetorian. A company that specializes in Data Centers. Even though the City of Chesapeake had put more than 14 million dollars into this property, their claim is they did not know this would be happening.
Part of the property had been rezoned into a Planned Unit Development. This will allow Data Centers to be built on this property by-right. Meaning there is no City approval required. There are too many coincidences for me to believe our City Government knew nothing about the sale. https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:share:7491672607461732352/
Furthermore where did our 14 million dollars go? On the 18th of August, City Council will meet to enact a Data Center ordinance. It is said that virtually all of the restrictions that the Planning Commision put in place on Data Centers, have been removed. Please attend the Chesapeake City Council meeting and speak to the issue or send in comments.
So as we see what is going on around us, we must realize what we are up against and act accordingly. This petition has been performing great thanks to you. Please keep signing and sharing. WE WILL WIN!
