Good evening from Idaho! I hope despite the increasingly cold weather in certain parts of the US and other continents that this message finds you in excellent condition and ready to make the iPhone a better place for all who come! There have been some developments in the world of Apple technology that could make an impact on our devices and in our communities.
• Recently, in testing newer versions of iOS 18, community members have been finding references either in the code or in the user-facing software that hints at potential sideloading for US customers, which gives us hope for the future of our devices and the end of the walled garden approach.
• Recently, Japan has also issued laws against monopolies in the tech industry, which may force Apple to comply with restrictions and regulations in parts of Asia as well.
Thank you for helping me reach 50 signatures. Our first goal has been reached, but we still have a lot of work to do. Do not be lulled into a false sense of security by thinking that sideloading is available in the US or that Apple has any intentions to do so; the consumers will most likely still have to speak out. I will post an update to this petition within the coming days with contact info for prominent Apple board members, as Tim Cook's inbox is heavily protected and likely has assistants filtering out messages that don't appear important! Let's kick off the holidays in style this year!!!
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! Stay vigilant, stand up, and speak out!
Let's make the iPhone better for everyone!
Regards,
Kyler Golden
