The City of San Diego Independent Budget Administrator has reported that this 30 year Developer lease deal is flawed. Additionally The City Attorney has reported irregularities in how the lease negotiations were handled. The Union Tribune delivered another perspective that this is ANOTHER Flawed real estate deal .. remember ASH Street. ….Still paying for that one and “There They Go Again”
So with all this opposition should be a no brainer For City Council to JUST SAY NO . Stop this Plan. STOP it no other delays.. End it NOW. We need To ACT NOW to Drive this down.
However the Mayor Continues beyond reason beyond legal advice, beyond Thousands of Citizen opposition to push and shove this through on Monday for his POLITICAL goals, not the benefit of The City.

We wanted to provide you with an update on the Kettner & Vine Mega Shelter (Now being referred to as Hope & Vine by the City). Things are still fluid but we will keep you posted as we learn additional information.

A vote on the lease for Kettner & Vine is currently scheduled for Monday, July 22nd at the afternoon session which begins at 2PM. If they change the time when posting the agenda tomorrow, we will let you know.

The Mayor wants to rush into a 30 year lease, that will burden at least 7-8 subsequent mayors of our City. This lease is fiscally irresponsible and the City does not have the funding for the project. The Mayor is trying to discredit the work done by the INDEPENDENT Budget Analyst (IBA) for the City. The IBA has published their report and spoke today at the City Council briefing to say this is an above market lease and they stand by their report which saysthis was not negotiated independently, there was no independent due diligence by the City and the City does not have funding for this project.
Stay tuned to for updates because the Kettner & Vine could still be rescheduled to the morning on Monday. The Mayor is trying to divert our attention so he can slip this issue onto the agenda when we least expect it and are not in attendance.

· Location: San Diego City Council Chambers: 202 C Street, 12th floor San Diego, CA 92101
· Each speaker must fill out and submit a written request using a speaker slip with the City Clerk at the meeting. They will be available on a table upon entry to the City Council Chambers. Note: Speaker slips may not be turned in prior to the day of the meeting or after completion of in-person testimony.
· Submit the speaker slips at the front of City Council Chambers with the City Clerk or Clerk staff. Or just come and be part of this. That would help!

· Speakers who wish to provide public comment virtually must enter the virtual queue by using the “Raise Your Hand” feature on the ZOOM webinar. YOU MUST RAISE YOUR HAND BEFORE THE VIRTUAL QUEUE IS CLOSED!
