Today we recognize the incredible sacrifice of a brave generation of Americans who 80 years ago fought for democracy. D-Day was historic and set the world on a path for freedom and relief from oppression. We owe that generation all we have.
Today, in contrast, our San Diego Mayor hid behind a fence at a press conference ignoring the attending citizens. He would not let the citizens attend the press conference located on public property. The Community has asked for a town hall, a briefing, a PLAN to operate the Mega Homeless Center at Kettner and Vine. . You and over 800 petition advocates have emailed Mayor and City Council with out response. Democracy DENIED!
Without one comment about the tremendous sacrifice of the Generation of defenders of democracy our Mayor and Council HIDE from democracy, hide behind a fence, hide from and ignore any interaction with “We The People”
Councilman Whitburn followed up with a disparaging comment on his way out of hiding behind the fence. He personally addressed me with a deplorable comment which compared me to a reduced person for which he has o respect. A taxpaying, law abiding citizen who wants to be heard with his fellow citizens.
Please get involved with your time, talent and/or treasure. The Mayor has left us no choice but to engage legal counsel and you can help. Please consider making a donation, of any amount, small or large. They are not responding to us and ignoring the basic tenants of democratic values we all hold so dear.
A donation link and information about Kettner and Vine can be found at www.kettnerandvine.com
With respect and with remembrance and gratitude to those who fought for and continue to fight for democracy.
