Please sign this petition and make our streets safer

The Issue

The Dept. of Transportation is coming to Community Board 7 with a proposal to fix the Lincoln Square "Bow-Tie," where a mother and child were hit by a hit-and-run driver last week. They were the 11th and 12th pedestrians to be hit on that corner this year!

The details of the plan aren't fully known, but it does include bigger pedestrian islands, banned turns to reduce conflict between cars and people, longer timing to cross the street, and even a short strip of painted (non-protected) bike lanes. It's 90 percent focused on pedestrian safety issues.

The Lincoln Square Business Improvement District board members are planning on attending the meeting to squash the plan as they are resistant to change.

Please sign this petition and let’s INSIST on safer streets around this dangerous intersection.
