April 10, 2026 – Stagecoach is Finally Listening?

There has been an important development regarding the X7.

After raising concerns about capacity and passenger experience, I just received a response from Stagecoach confirming that they have passed my enquiry to Stagecoach Midlands' in Northampton for review!

This is truly a significant step in the right direction! It means that the issue is no longer just being raised externally – it is now being considered internally by the team responsible for operating the service.

While no decision has been made as of yet, the concerns being raised are now being taken seriously.

Over the past few weeks, I have:

• Logged multiple journeys across different times of day and week
• Observed how demand varies by section and direction
• Spoken directly with passengers.

A clear pattern has emerged:

👉Demand on the X7 is inconsistent

👉It varies in terms of location, time and direction

👉Peak journeys – especially towards Leicester in the morning, can experience significantly higher demand (as told by one of the passengers who uses the X7 from Northampton).

Additionally, new buses are due to enter service on the X7 later this April (according to a Facebook group).

While this is a positive step forward in terms of comfort, accessibility and creature comforts, they remain single-deck vehicles and may not completely address capacity on the busiest journeys.

This campaign was never about criticising improvements – it is about ensuring that capacity is matched to demand on the journeys that need it the most.
