Here was the city’s response to my last email as well as my reply:
Hi Christina,
We are continuing to work with the School District on this location. I appreciate your patience and will share information when we both parties have determined how best to proceed.
Thank you,
Mark Halpin
Manager of Transportation
Hi Mark,
I fail to see how city infrastructure upgrades are a school district issue. I speak to Tanya on a regular basis as an active parent volunteer and a member of our school’s PAC. I would assume any actual decision making on this subject would be at the city level. Tanya is a great principal and I know she will always have the safety of the Albion Elementary students as her highest priority but I very much doubt that she is the decision maker on this subject. I therefore kindly request that you CC the actual decision makers on this email. As you may have noticed, I have CC’d school trusties and the mayor on all of my correspondence with you over the last year yet you only ever reply to me… except on this one last email where you CC’d our school principal. Maybe you intended to CC the Superintendent Teresa Downs? If this is truly an issue being discussed by the city and the school district collaboratively, then let’s loop her in.
By the way the petition has now just today jumped to 623 signatures. Clearly this is very important to our whole community!
Sincerely,
Christina Holland
