S.4001 - Supplemental Security Income Restoration Act of 2026

Hi everybody,thanks for your support for people with disabilities. There is legislation in the senate that reintroduces the bill of S.4001 - Supplemental Security Income Restoration Act of 2026. It was once brought in 2023/2024 but died in the legislature by not getting voted on. However it has bipartisan support. I do recommend emailing your senators and house representatives too. Because people on ssi shouldn’t be punished by getting married,trying to save some money so they could have the opportunity to get their needs met. Ssi hadn’t been updated in 41 years (as of June 25th,2026) and been around for 51 years. I do remember this piece of legislation because it does offer more than the ssi savings elimination penalty act. It is included in the ssi restoration act. So it’s a two in one piece of legislation. Thank you for your support. I will keep yall posted if any pieces of legislation passes or changes. But keep emailing and calling your representatives then most important thing is to keep voting as well. If able talk to who is running for congress in your district.
